Being Unique: Why It's Important to Be Yourself
Did you know there is nobody else in the entire world exactly like you?
You are an original — not a copy!
Everyone has different talents, interests, personalities and things they enjoy. These differences are our superpowers and what make us special.
Sometimes we might be tempted to follow the crowd because we want to fit in or be liked. But if everyone copied everyone else and was the same, the world would be very boring!
It's okay to admire other people and learn from them, but you don't have to become them.
What Makes YOU Unique?
Maybe you...
love reading, drawing or creating things
enjoy a sport that isn't very popular
collect things
enjoy quiet time or being in nature
don't like crowds or loud places
prefer individual sports to team sports
like dressing differently
are tall, short, quiet, energetic or funny
have a special talent or interest
None of these things make you better or worse than anyone else. They simply make you YOU.
Be Yourself
Being yourself isn't always easy. Sometimes people might say, "Why do you like that?" or "Why don't you do what everyone else does?"
You don't have to change who you are just to fit in.
Being unique doesn't mean thinking you're better than everyone else. It means being comfortable with who you are while respecting other people's differences too.
Master's Challenge
This week, think of three things that make YOU unique.
Then remember:
"I am an original, not a copy."
You don't need to follow the crowd to be happy or successful.
Be yourself. Be proud of what makes you different. Let your uniqueness shine!
