Master's Message children's class discussion topic of the week.
Who can tell me what intuition is?
Who can give me an example of a time when you used your intuition?
Intuition is your “gut feeling” or “sixth sense.”
It is like an internal compass that can guide you when you don't have all the facts or can't explain exactly why you feel something.
Sometimes something may look good or seem okay, but something inside you tells you that it doesn't feel right.
If something doesn't feel right, listen to that feeling and step away.
For example, you might meet someone for the first time and, even though they seem friendly, something inside you tells you to be careful.
You may not know exactly why you feel that way — that's your intuition speaking to you.
Your intuition can also guide you in positive situations. You might feel strongly that you should try something new, help someone, or follow a particular path, even though you can't explain exactly why.
However, intuition doesn't mean you should ignore common sense or the facts.
Listen to your gut feeling, think carefully, and when something doesn't feel right, tell a trusted adult.
Remember: Your intuition is there to help protect and guide you.
Learn to listen to it.
