Cobra Martial Arts for Self Defence and Fitness!
Cobra Martial Arts & Fitness centres have been teaching beginners for over 20 years. With two decades of experience, we guarantee that all students who attend the recommended two sessions each week experience significant health, fitness and strength improvements within their first month of training. You are not expected to be 'in shape', fit, nor flexible to begin training in the Cobra Martial Arts beginner's classes. It is OUR job, to work with you, gradually improving your health, fitness and self defence capabilty. As a beginner it is important that you participate at your own pace and only increase your intensity as your fitness improves.
Format of Cobra Martial Arts lessons
Over the past 20 years, Cobra Martial Arts & Fitness Centres have developed the perfect class format for achieving rapid results in fitness and self defence skills. Lessons are structured and disciplined, commencing with warm-up exercises, fitness work and strengthening exercises. The lesson progresses onto stretching exercises for improved flexibilty, practice of self defence techniques, combinations, partner-work and pad-work. Sparring is optional.
The Freestyle or Mixed Martial Arts Concept
The Cobra Martial Arts Instructor Team consists of approximately forty hand selected, world class, highly qualified, experienced and certified instructors. Cobra Martial Arts & Fitness Centres teach a very popular and unique, hybrid or blended form of Freestyle Martial Arts (these days known as Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)) to both children and adults. The system combines the best techniques from the most practical and popular martial arts styles into one complete system.
The Cobra Martial Arts system comprises of the six most popular and practical martial arts styles being Karate, Traditional Taekwondo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), Muay Thai Boxing (Kickboxing), Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Filipino Eskrima (also known as Kali and Arnis). Apart from it's practicality, this variety also ensures that the program remains fresh and exciting for all ages.
The main difference between the Mixed Martial Arts you see in the cage on TV and what we will teach you at Cobra, is that we have retained the traditional values of martial arts, such as respect, discipline and integrity. Additionally, we also teach you in a safe, family friendly manner, suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Locations and Timetable
Cobra Martial Arts & Fitness Centres have two full-time training centres located in Cannington and Myaree, Perth, Western Australia, which are open 6 days a week. The flexible class timetable allows you lessons during the day, night and weekends, meaning that there is ample opportunity for you to attend the recommended two classes each week. The school conducts classes at night, evenings, mornings, lunchtime and weekends. Personal Training (private lessons) in martial arts and / or fitness are also available by appointment and can even be shared with a friend to split the cost.
Through Cobra Martial Arts lessons you will develop a fitter, stonger, more toned body, with increased alertness, flexibilty and vitality guaranteed! Your mind and body will gradually learn to adapt to the training, thereby preparing you mentally and physically for the challenges of daily life. At a gradual but consistent pace, you will become proficient in self defence, enabling you to protect yourself and your family.
